Branded Keypads and interface cards
Branded Keypads and Graphic Overlays
TRM can supply a branded keypad as a complete product or as part of a customized controller. A well designed keypad can attract a positive, image in the eyes of potential customer, it conveys a high level of professionalism. Using a custom overlay also makes the process easier to use for the operator, improves safety and also can reduce training times.
Keypads are made using a reverse printed polycarbonate membrane, bonded to an aluminum backing plate. A printed circuit board is mounted under the aluminum plate and tactile switches protrude through the plate so that when pressed the embossed overlay lies flat against the plate preventing the operator from damaging the keypad switches. To make the overlay durable, the image is reverse printed, normally this is silk screen printed using solvent based inks and typically has around 6 colors. More colors can be printed using dot matrix printing with near photographic quality but with less durability as solvent inks are not used.

Bespoke Interface Boards
Bespoke interface reduce complexity and wiring, making servicing easier and are generally much more cost effective than discrete devices. An interface card can greatly reduce electrical complexity to the point where there may only be a controller, interface, sensors, guard switches and motors.
In addition to making wiring more compact and easier, they can be used to support a wide range of services analogue services such as thermocouples amplifiers, load cell interfaces etc. Other services include Mains services such as power supplies, solid state relays, mains filters. Typically an interface card will include a connector to all services on the machine including safety circuits, drive interface etc.

Custom Software
Custom software can be supplied as either a MAP template or as an executable program. Map is an easy to use programming language that has over 116 commands and some commands have 12 options. The benefit of a template is that it can be easily edited to suit special end user needs.
Creating menus and end user interfaces is very simple, many user interfaces can be written in less than 20 lines of code. Training is available and many people are able to program effectively after a very short course.

Sensors, wiring and cables
Custom sensors
Custom sensors can be manufactured so suit special applications like the IR sensor shown above. TRM can design and manufacture sensors for many applications including pressure, humidity, temperature, inductive, capacitive, light level, IR, level, voltage and current.
Special purpose encoders
Some applications may need a special encoder working with Renishaw magnetic encoders, TRM can design and manufacture special purpose encoders. Linear or rotary encoder designs are possible as are incremental or absolute encoders.
Electrical Boxes and Panels

DC Servo drives
DC drives can be used for many applications and sometimes a special purpose drive may be needed for a special application. TRM designs and manufactures drives and we are happy to advise on special purpose drives.
Brushless Servo drives
A range of brushless servo drives from 10 watts to 50 Kilo Watts. Brushless drives can be used for many applications and are highly stable and reliable.
Servo Motors
Servo motors with or without pulleys and mounting plates from our partner manufactures with a wide range of motors to offer including DC servo, brushless servo motors, stepper motors, induction motors and linear motors.

TRM works with other manufacturers as a partner. We are able to supply many different motor options, for example fitting gearboxes can be difficult, TRM offers specialist support services and can part manufacture motor parts and mounting plates etc. TRM can calculate the torque loading and specify a best fit motor size and type.

Working with partner manufacturers TRM offers advice and on linear guides and can supply guides which can be customised to suit specific requirements. Guides can be supplied with home switches and or linear encoders built it.

Part of a complete service is the provision of a fit and forget service. Custom kits can be supplied with Motor Mounts, belts and pulleys which can be supplied ready machines to suit the client application.

Using computer aided design TRM can design circuit boards up to 32 layers, for all types of product from radio, micro processor, analogue, power etc. TRM has more than 24 years of printed circuit design experience.
