PROCUT is a new Guillotine Control System running over our CM3 Motion Controller, it takes great advantage of new technology in motion control, making all the movements as accurate as possible. PROCUT is a complete system including interface board, power supply, drive, proximity sensors, servomotor, encoder, cables and pulleys. Usually the encoders used used are a 1000 pulse per revolution (1000 ppr), this will ensure an excellent resolution and a very accurate system. The programme consists of a database manager and a motion control kernel. The database is used to store commands and position data for the motion control sequence. The end user is presented with a user friendly front end with which to manipulate the database. The user interface consists of an editor that has a pull down menu system. Upon accessing an option on the main menu for example, the user has to press the desired number and a new window will appear on screen. The system is programmed to accept data in a strict format which prevents the end user from entering erroneous data. If the end user attempts to enter data incorrectly the system will prompt advising the user of the data limits. PROCUT will allow up to a 100 stored in memory programs in memory each of them up to 1000 lines. A system requires calibration information in order to operate to standard measurements. The end user must programme the limits for the system these include system calibration, where positive and negative limits need to be programmed.
